Significant efficacy of Matritas (Botanical insecticide) against aphid on citrus plant in Bangladesh

(Field Data Report)


Location and time of the study: An experiment was conducted at rooftop during the Period from 18 February to 25 February, 2019


Methods and Materials:

The experiment set up date was on 18th February.

Planting Material: Citrus plant was selected for the experiment. 5 twigs selected from each three plants for the experiment

Treatment: Matritas @ 3.33mL/L of water.

Replication: 3 replications.

Type of spraying machine: Knapsack Sprayer

Working procedure: At first, we collected pre-data from the infested plant. Then we sprayed Matritas@ 3.33 mL/L of water properly by knapsack sprayer in foggy form. The presence of aphid populations on Citrus plant were observed on 3, 5 and 7 days and the collecting data was put into the sampling sheet.

Result and discussion:

Before spray the mean number of aphid population on the citrus plant ranged 86.6 -93.2 per plant as recorded in 3 replications (Table 3.). After spray aphid population was significantly decreased at 3, 5 and 7 days of intervals compared with the pre-data of aphid populations.

Conclusion: From the above table it was seen that the percent reduction of aphid in each replication was zero level in 7 days of observation. So, we can easily conclude that Matritas is effective against Aphids.
